How trust works

TriniTaxis is a booking tool. It does not employ drivers or check how anyone drives. The badge on a driver's page says exactly what we have looked at, and nothing more.

Verified

We have seen the driver's ID, driver's permit, an H (hire) plate and current hire insurance.

Known driver

We have seen the driver's ID and driver's permit, and a photo of the car's plate. You know who the driver is. This is not a safety check, and a private car is not licensed or insured for hire.

New

The driver signed up but we haven't looked at any documents yet. The name and car are as they entered them.

What we don't check

• Driving record, criminal record (unless a police certificate is listed), or the car's condition.
• Fares. Drivers set their own; any estimate is a guide.
• Who is actually behind the wheel. Compare the photo and plate before you get in.

Staying safe

• Send your trip link to someone you trust. It shows the driver, car, plate and route.
• If the driver or car doesn't match the page, don't get in.
• Report a problem from your trip link or the driver's page. Three open reports pause a driver's link until we review it.
• In an emergency call 999 (police) or 990 (fire and ambulance).
